I love using wikis in my classroom. I have found that it is a great way for my students to collaborate on projects. I have also used wikis as a place for students to contribute to portfolios. I prefer wikis over blogs when it comes to my classroom. Why? Collaboration.

I wrote about our MCSEnglishLearners Wiki on the blog! It has been a fantastic tool for PD. The EL teachers offered a book study during the school year to classroom teachers.

4. Sheila Hadden - Check out my student wiki projects:

5. Renee Graham - I was a member of the MCSEnglishLearners Wiki and I enjoyed participating. I'm interested in learning more about using them, either with my co-workers or my second graders.

6. Harriet Miller - I have not used Wiki before. I really enjoyed reading the novel newsletters from Shelia Hadden's honors english 9 class. In the past my classes have had to create a newsletter. I like the idea of students working in groups in Wiki for this project.

7. Kelli Nichols- I think wikis can be an awesome tool for both the teacher and student. Since we are all learners, wikis allow us to collaborate and teach each other whether that be from the teacher perspective with PD, or the student perspective through projects and classroom discussion.

8. Lisa D'Antonio- just having time to catch up on all this. I think I have an idea for a way to use this next year. I haven't used wikis before.

9. Kathy Miller - We use wiki at West Madison for weekly info for our teachers....Dr. Jah developed it and it is called the Monday Focus. We did a book study once and made comments through the wiki. I used Glogster to create my home page for a wiki that I developed. You just hover over the pictures that I have and click on it and they take you to the different pages...makes things a little more interesting.
